Today we are looking at a very small town in the Eastern Pondoland called Lusikisiki. This small town is located in the pondland area between Flagstaff and Port St Johns.
Lusikisiki is not too far from KwaZulu Natal and it is between R61 and the N2 road. Lusikisiki is commonly known by offering a variety of beauty through different cultural activities. This town has about 200 villages which are surrounding Lusikisiki. It has also one of the biggest hospitals in the province as it is serving for about 200 villages.
Lusikisiki is a perfect little town in which to experience the beauty of the wild coast and the warmth and the hospitality of the Amampondo people. The Amampondo are a welcoming group of people who traditionally live in Huts. The Amampondo people have the love for ornaments and beat work and they are very involved in welcoming visitors to this part of country.
It has a different approach to its tourism and travel lovers and it is also along the wild coast where not only people can enjoy the out doors activities but it also caters for in doors activities. It is under the famous Ingquza Local Municipality which covers two towns, which is Flagstaff and Lusikisiki.
People growing in Lusikisiki were actually very rich in terms of their history as it is famous for its tea that was produced in the area.
The coastline that lies between Port St Johns and Mkabathi Nature Reserve is the virtually untouched and an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. The following are some of the outdoors activities that you can enjoy during your stay in Lusikisiki hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and surfing. Lusikisiki has also the most beautiful Falls ever and some of those falls have also been used to develop the economy of the province because more people are coming in to visit them.
In terms of accommodation, Lusikisiki has the top class BnB's and Guesthouses at a very low price where you do not have to worry about paying arm and a leg just for a place to sleep. There is a BnB which is located very close to town called Sips where it caters for all of your needs.
